How to Use

A step-by-step walkthrough to help you calculate your General Weighted Average accurately and confidently.

1

Open the Calculator

Go to the main calculator on the homepage

Navigate to the GWA Calculator homepage. The calculator is placed at the very top of the page — you don't need to scroll to access it. You'll see three default subject rows already filled in. You can modify these or start fresh by clicking the Reset button.

Tip: On mobile, the calculator is fully responsive. All inputs and dropdowns are touch-friendly and easy to use.

2

Enter Your Courses

Fill in each subject row with the required information

Each subject row has three fields: Course Code (optional), Units (required, 0.25–12), and Grade (select from PH scale dropdown).

3

Add or Remove Courses

Customize the number of subjects

To add another subject, click the + Add Course button. To remove a subject, click the trash icon on the right side of any row. The calculator requires at least one subject.

Important: Do NOT include subjects like PE, NSTP, SP/Thesis, HK, or Military Science unless your school specifically includes them in GWA computation.

4

Click "Calculate GWA"

Get your result instantly

Once all your subjects are entered, click the Calculate GWA button. The result section will appear below showing: your final GWA, verbal description, academic standing, total units, US GPA equivalent, percentage equivalent, and a full grade breakdown table.

5

Download Your Result

Save or share your GWA

After calculating, click Download Result (PNG) to save an image, or Print / Save PDF to get a PDF version via your browser's print dialog.

Understanding the GWA Formula

GWA = Σ( Grade × Units ) / Σ( Units )

Example: You have 3 subjects:

CourseGradeUnitsGrade × Units
Math 111.5046.00
Eng 12.0036.00
Phys 711.7547.00
Total1119.00

GWA = 19.00 ÷ 11 = 1.73 (Very Good)
